GOOLE VIKING STRIDERS JUNIOR SECTION
POLICY DOCUMENT
All parents should read this policy before any involvement of their child in the
group.
Goole Viking Striders aims to provide a safe and
protective environment where all young people can enjoy their running to their
full potential.
We will therefore try to ensure the following points
are adhered to:
All training sessions/runs will not be
carried out on public highways to ensure safety of our athletes.
Promote an environment free from physical or verbal abuse , bullying , racism or
sexism.
Have a zero tolerance policy on any member or volunteer who is found guilty of
physical or verbal abuse , bullying , racism or sexism. This may result in the
person be asked to leave the club and where applicable their membership will be
terminated.
Implement an athlete centered approach where the needs of each individual
athlete comes first respecting the rights , dignity and worth of every athlete
regardless of background or ability.
Ensure that at every training session there is at least 2 responsible adults in
attendance.
Ensure the athlete respects their own team members and members from other clubs.
Coaches , volunteers , parents where appropriate shall be CRB police checked for
working with children in accordance with UK athletics.
Have a policy where should there be any concerns of abuse or discrimination in
any way the athlete or parent should be encouraged to report the suspicions as
soon as possible to Dot Pullman the Child Protection Coordinator for Goole
Viking Striders.
